Audrey's Birthday Party

Mark and I like to decorate the hall outside the girls room while they're sleeping the night before their birthday so that they wake up and see balloons and streamers.

For breakfast Audrey and I made birthday pancakes...pancakes with sprinkles in them. She thought they were pretty neat.

I decided to go low key for Audrey's birthday this year. She doesn't always enjoy crowds. It can be overwhelming for her when the whole family gets together. After going to Disneyland Audrey really wanted a princess cake. So I got online and found a pretty easy castle cake to make. Of course it never quite turns out like the picture, but Audrey said it looked perfect. :) Mimi, Papa and Granny Buzz came over to eat cake and ice cream and to watch Audrey open her presents. A few days ago Audrey found her present from us and opened them up. I just re-wraped them and gave them to her again. Hailey was really excited to give her present, she had gotten a pencil at primary and decided to wrap it herself and give it to Audrey. It might not have been the most exciting party, but Audrey seemed to really enjoy it.

Audrey

Today is Audrey's birthday. I can't believe my baby girl is 3!! Where does time go? Audrey is our little princess. She loves everything girlie, sparkly or fancy. She is stubborn and on most days tries my patience. She can be sweet and loving or feisty and over dramatic. I am grateful for each day I have with her. (though somedays I wouldn't mind sending her away to live with Grandma and Grandpa) She makes my life more interesting. Happy Birthday Audrey!!

California Dream'n

On our last morning in California we decided to go to the beach. It wasn't the warmest day, but we still had fun. There were lots and lots of surfers. Hailey enjoyed the water a little more than Audrey.

Baby Names

Today Hailey asked me what we are going to name the baby. I told her "probably Spencer." to which she replied "Spencer?!?"

"You don't like that name?" I asked.

"I am the one who prayed for a baby boy...don't you think I should pick the name?"

Sorry Hailey, but that's not how these things work. If it were up to her we would name the baby Victor, Josh or Kason. Those are the names of some of the boys from her church class and preschool.

DisneyLand

Last week we went to Disneyland as a family. We had been planning and saving for almost a year. I don't think we could have picked a more perfect time to go. We were able to ride all but maybe 5 rides in the first 4 hours we were there on Wednesday. We all had a lot of fun. Audrey wasn't tall enough to ride all the rides and I wasn't able to ride the big ones since I am pregnant.

We stayed at a hotel right down the street from Disneyland, it's called theCastle Inn and Suites. The girls thought it was neat since it really looks like a castle. It was nice to just walk to Disneyland each day instead of paying for parking.

Puppy Love

Well after much begging and searching we finally decided to get a dog. Mark and the girls have been asking for a dog for over a year now. We thought about just saving our money and buying a pure bred something from a breeder, but then we started visiting the animal shelter. That's where we found Jack our mix terrier puppy. I don't know if he really has any terrier in him, but he's sure cute. The girls wanted to name him Pluto, but the name just didn't seem right to us, so we talked them into Jack as the first name and Pluto for the middle.

I couldn't for the life of me get the girls just to smile :)

He has been a good puppy. He loves being around the family and he's starting to learn a few tricks like how to sit and fetching his little tennis ball. I'm not thrilled about the poop, but since he's so cute and doesn't howl or bark at night I'll put up with it.

Groundhog day

On groundhogs day we made some little groundhogs that pop out of the ground. The girls wanted to take them outside to see if they could see their shadows.
